THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Kerala section, jointly with College of Engineering Trivandrum, SCT College of Engineering and Government Engineering College Barton Hill, is organising a three-day international conference on ‘Recent advances in intelligent computational systems’ from September 22 to 24 at the Convention Centre, Hotel Mascot.The conference brings together scientists, researchers, students, industry representatives and academicians from different parts of the world.Papers being presented at the conference cover a variety of topics in Computer Science, such as Embedded Systems, Robotics, Digital Audio and Video Processing, Virtual Reality, Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, SCADA Systems, Semantic Networks, Machine Learning, Wireless Networks, Cloud Computing, Automotive & Entertainment Electronics, Biomedical Systems, Bioinformatics, and Computing for the Disabled.The conference received over 500 papers from 13 countries, of which 175 have been shortlisted for oral presentation in five parallel tracks, and 76 for poster presentation.These papers are based on the work at different universities, companies and premier institutions such as ISRO, National Aerospace laboratory, IISc Banglore, the IITs, TCS, National University of Singapore, University of Queensland (Australia), University of Adelaide (Australia) and Stanford University, California.Four keynote addresses by eminent professionals from IBM India, Massey University, New Zealand, Nanorel, Singapore; and the Centre for Bioinformatics, University of Kerala are scheduled for the event.Two pre-conference tutorials on ‘Wireless and digital signal processing’ will be held on Thursday.Dr V M Gopala Menon IAS, Secretary (Co-operation), Government of Kerala, and former Director, Census Operations, Kerala, will inaugurate the conference.Dr K S Dasgupta, Director, IIST, will be the chief guest at the valedictory session on September 24.The conference will serve to showcase to the world the research work done in different institutions in Kerala, India and other parts of the world.
