BANGALORE: Following the direction of the Lokayukta Special Court, the Regional Medical Officer (RMO) of the Victoria Hospital submitted a detailed medical report of former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu, who is in judicial custody after being arrested in KIADB land scam, to the court on Saturday.The RMO, Dr Kantharaju, appeared before the court and submitted the report in which it was explained why the operation was conducted on Katta. He informed that Katta was suffering from Lymphoma since many years and he had also undergone chemotherapy in 2004. Later in 2008, Katta had undergone a surgery related to stem cells in London.He also explained that Victoria Hospital did not have the facility to treat the accused, for which the judge, N K Sudheendra Rao, asked the RMO whether there was an oncology unit in the hospital. The RMO informed the court that the hospital had only one oncology doctor, for which the court directed the RMO to file a memo in the court on Monday and the court would direct him about the next course of action.It may be recalled that the court, on Thursday, had directed the hospital’s medical superintendent to submit a medical report of Katta to the court within three days after the doctors had delayed operation on Katta.
