Manipur: Two powerful bombs recovered, two arrested

Imphal: Two powerful bombs were recovered from Imphal West in Manipur, police said on Monday. Two people have been arrested in this connection.

The police commandos rushed to Laipham Khunou area in the outskirts of the town on a tip-off and recovered the two bombs from a house, sources said. Owner of the house, E Gyaneshore Singh, was arrested along with his accomplice, whose name was not yet known.

Interrogation of the two was on, sources said, adding that the commandos were also searching the surrounding area. The bombs were meant to be placed so as to target security personnel, according to initial official reports.
