Warangal: Four teenaged girls studying at a private institute for the visually challenged in Hanamkonda have claimed that they were sexually harassed by the husband of the institute's owner, police said on Sunday. B Bhaskar sexually harassed the girls aged between 14 and 16 years in April at the institute's premises, police said, quoting from a complaint lodged by the parents of the girls.
The girls, who are partially blind, initially reported the matter to the institute owner. However, after she reportedly did not initiate any action, they told about the incident to their parents, who lodged a complaint, a police officer at the Hanamkonda police station said. After the complaint, Bhaskar has been taken into custody and is being questioned, the police officer said, adding that he has not been arrested yet.
He had been charged with outraging the modesty of women, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the police said.
