THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a major burglary that was reported on Thursday, a house was ransacked and valuables worth about Rs 4 lakh were taken away from a house at Poojappura. The burglars, who broke into the house of one Sasidharan Nair at Palace View Road at Poojappura, made away with gold ornaments weighing about 22 sovereigns and Rs 2,000.According to the police, the theft was suspected to have taken place between 10 am and 1 pm when Sasidharan Nair and family had gone to attend the house-warming ceremony of one of his relatives. The burglars entered the house by breaking the lock of the backdoor of the house. Fingerprint experts and the Dog Squad of the police collected evidence.
