Bangalore; Heavy rain in the neighbouring region is making life difficult for people in Karnataka.
There has been little rain so far in North Karnataka but its people are flood hit because of heavy rain in Maharashtra
And Karnataka's misery won't end here.
Maharashtra authorities say the Almatti dam in Karnataka is the main cause of flood in its southern districts and that Karnataka should release water from the dam.
However, Andhra Pradesh authorities contend that if the water is released from Almatti into River Krishna, it will flood the catchment areas of the Nagarjuna Sagar dam.
The water from Almatti leads to floods not only in Andhra Pradesh also in Karnataka's Gulbarga district.
Despite these worries, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy says that the flood situation in the state is under control.
"We are getting information and updates on the flood situation on the minute, every minute and the situation is well under control. Our district officers have already taken necessary measures," says he.
Meanwhile, in Jharkhand, torrential showers since last Thursday have forced the Tata Zoological Park authorities in Jamshedpur to shift animals and birds to drier areas.
In Gujarat and Maharashtra, the rain has let up bringing some relief to the people.
