Fisheries and Excise Minister K Babu inaugurated the 44th anniversary of Sree Gokulam Group on Sunday. Hibi Eden MLA presided over the function.
K Babu said that the success of the organisation is itself proof that business enterprises can thrive in Kerala.
“It is not easy to lure investors to the state owing to the misconception prevailing that this is a place of hartals. Amidst such controversies, the success of such an organisation provides a ray of hope for the state,” he said.
Critic M K Sanu was honoured on the occasion. Sanu released the book ‘Nilapadukal’ authored by Gokulam Gopalan, managing director of Sree Gokulam Group, Kochi.
Sanu said that the book has the quality of keeping the readers engaged owing to its simple narrative technique.
“The book contains 28 notes which have clarity and precision. A majority of them carry the depth of a well-written essay. A chapter which was dedicated to depict the vision of Sree Narayana Guru deserves special mention,” he said.
Actor Devan who spoke at the occasion said, “An eligible politician should swim against the currents and not follow the course,” he said.
Cine actor Meera Nandan received the copy of the book from M K Sanu.
Journalist Sree Kandan Nair, businessmen Babu Alappat Baskaran (Pipe Field Group), CKK Moidu (CKK Group), K Vishwanathan (Kunnathukalathil Jewellers) were also present.
