Three children of a labourer's family were burnt to death on Friday when their thatched hut in a Bihar village caught fire, police said.
The incident took place in Amhara Ramnagar Tola as the fire broke out in kitchen and soon engulfed the entire hut fatally trapping three siblings Shobha Kumari (10), Chhoti Kumari (08) and Ram (06), police said.
The victims' mother Rama Devi (43) was away working in a nearby field when the tragedy struck her family. Her husband Bhagwan Das works in Kolkata, they said. Senior officials rushed to the spot to investigate the matter and gave Rs 15,000 compensation to the grieving family for cremation of three children under the Kabir Antayesti.
