HYDERABAD: Vijayawada Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, an integrationist, met veteran freedom fighter and Telanganite Konda Laxman Bapuji at the latter’s residence here on Friday and exchanged views on the state’s bifurcation issue. They came to the conclusion that the issue should be resolved only through discussions. Talking to newsmen later, Bapuji said he had invited Lagadapati to find out the scope for resolving the Telangana issue in a congenial atmosphere. “We believe that the Telangana issue could be resolved through discussions. Prior to it there is a need to create a peaceful atmosphere”, he added. The MP said he had given Bapuji a copy of the report favouring “United AP” given by Seemandhra Congress leaders to AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad recently. “Our discussions centred on creation of peaceful atmosphere in the state for resolution of the problem. I reciprocated Bapuji’s gesture by inviting him to Vijayawada,” he said.
