HYDERABAD: TRS MLA K T Rama Rao has requested President Pratibha Patil, who is visiting the state, to direct the Central government to deliver T state without any further delay.Speaking to reporters at the Telangana Bhavan here on Wednesday, he said the President, as part of her state tour has been camping in Hyderabad for the past two days and she is aware of the protests by the activists for separate Telangana state.Rama Rao recalled that in 2004, the then President APJ Abdul Kalam had promised Telangana state in his Presidential address to the joint parliament session.“We therefore urge the President to implement the earlier promise made by Kalam on Telangana,” the TRS leader explained. Referring to the efforts of Congress MPs and MLAs in Delhi, the TRS MLA said they should force the Centre to start consultations with Seemandhra leaders on the issue. He said since all the elected representatives from Telangana region tendered resignations for their posts, the state government is only represented by members from Seemandhra region. Rama Rao also took strong objection to the comments made by Sanjaya Baru, media advisor to the then prime minister PV Narasimha Rao, on Telangana and remarked that he should study his father’s books on Telangana. While addressing a workshop in Delhi on Tuesday, Sanjaya Baru opined that Telangana problems would be solved only in a united Andhra Pradesh.
