BARGARH: With Kansa conspiring to wipe out Lord Krishna after inviting him to ‘Dhanu Yatra’, the scene at Mathura revolved around the journey of his minister Akrura to Gopapur.Seated on a chariot pulled by horses, Akrura leaves for Gopapur while King Kansa tours his kingdom. He also delivers justice and penalises people at the ‘Raj Durbar’ while enjoying cultural fete at the ‘Rang Mahal’.At Gopapur the ‘Nabakeli’, which shows young Krishna romancing Radha on a boat, was staged. Akrura on reaching Gopapur comes across the impression of the feet of Lord Krishna on the river bank and pays obeisance. Sounds of cymbals and traditional drums filled the air as people join Akrura in paying their obeisance to the Lord. Meanwhile, people witnessing the festival have been complaining of heavy dust pollution. Although the civic body has been spraying water, it is of no help.
