Chief Minister Oommen Chandy presented the Kerala State Tourism awards on Thursday.
Distributing the awards, Chandy said that tourism sector had great potential for development. There are several tourism spots, which are yet to be explored.
The theme of tourism will be showcased at the Emerging Kerala, scheduled to be held in September. Development of tourism is a team work of government and private parties. The government will provide all infrastructure for tourism development, he said. Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar presided over the function. KTDC hotels and resorts chairman Vijayan Thomas, Tourism Secretary Suman Billa, Tourism Director Rani George, Confederation of Kerala Tourism industry president E M Najeeb spoke.
