'Kahaani' high over, where is Vidya headed?
Sujoy Ghosh's 'Kahaani' became a huge hit and Vidya got established as safe box office bet.

New Delhi: The mega success of 'Kahaani' has strengthened Vidya Balan's position as an actor to look forward to in future. Vidya's position as a bankable actor was greatly discussed after the success of 'The Dirty Picture'. Her critics pointed out that she could be just one film wonder and 'Kahaani' is her real test where no Naseeruddin Shah or Emraan Hashmi would be present to ease off her shoulders. But, Sujoy Ghosh's 'Kahaani' became a huge hit and Vidya got established as safe box office bet.

Vidya also knows the value of her new found success and probably this prompted her to give statement like 'Now, Khans should add Balan as their surname.' However, this did not deter the mighty Khans from praising Vidya's talent.

Shah Rukh Khan openly said on TV that Vidya is the future of Bollywood while Aamir Khan also expressed the desire to work with Vidya.

She is already a favourite of some of the big names in the Hindi film industry. Vishal Bharadwaj and Vidhu Vinod Chopra are among them. Both showcased Vidya in very important roles where she was given the chance to excel. Take 'Ishqiya', 'Parineeta', and 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' as examples.

Vidhu Vinod is again all set to feature Vidya Balan in a new avatar in his forthcoming film 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari'. This time Vidya will be seen doing a 'lavani' item number in 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari'.

The film will hit the screens on April 27 but Balan's full fledged role would not be seen before 2013 when UTV Motion Pictures will release 'Ghanchakkar'. Raj Kumar Gupta is directing the film while Emraan Hashmi is playing the hero opposite Vidya.

Initially there were rumours that Vidya and Amitabh Bachchan are doing a film together but later the news was refuted. Then the director Sujoy Ghosh again said that he is planning to cast Vidya and Prosenjit for his next film. If this report turns out to be true then this will be Vidya's second film after 'Ghanchakkar'.

She has been nominated six times for the Filmfare awards in her small career of seven years in Bollywood, and her recent performance at the box office generates hope for many such nominations in future.
