HYDERABAD: Prohibiting junior doctors from going on any strikes for six months, the state government on Wednesday brought the doctors’ services under the Andhra Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act 1971.According to the government order, the strike prejudicially results in infliction of grave hardship on people, which forced the government to bring the services under ESMA.The Junior Doctors’ Association swiftly responded saying the orders indicate that the government has no thoughts of solving their demands despite giving written assurance.JUDA JAC member Dr Naresh said it was an attempt to suppress their fundamental rights. He added they are going to hold a meeting on Thursday to decide future course of action. It must be recalled that the JUDA had launched a protest on January 14 demanding a solution to their demands including increase in the stipend. They even boycotted emergency services for four days before calling off the strike on February 15.
