ROURKELA/SAMBALPUR: A day after DSP PK Mohanty faced Vigilance raids, the anti-corruption sleuths on Monday unearthed unaccounted properties to the tune of Rs 1.52 crore from a Junior Engineer (JE) Dinesh Kumar Sahu. Sambalpur-based Vigilance SP Manoranjan Panda informed that a complaint of unaccounted assets owned by Sahu led to the search of his palatial house at the posh Civil Township here. Assets worth over Rs 1.52 crore were recovered till Monday evening.Vigilance estimated his palatial house at Rs 52 lakh, while fixed deposits amounted to Rs 80 lakh. Other assets included cash recoveries of Rs 5.16 lakh from his house and two bank lockers, insurance deposits of Rs 2.5 lakh, gold ornaments worth Rs 7.5 lakh, household articles of Rs 3 lakh, a car and a two-wheeler.Bank deposits between Rs 15 and 20 lakh are expected to be recovered, the SP said.Sahu is a JE at the Kuchinda block office in Sambalpur district. Besides his parental house at Raiboga in Sundargarh district, Vigilance raids were conducted at his office and official residence in Kuchinda.On Sunday night, Vigilance teams completed raids on DSP PK Mohanty and recovered movable and immovable properties to the tune of Rs 76.20 lakh. The SP said action would be initiated against the JE and the DSP on completion of the probe.
