BANGALORE: The High Court on Thursday expressed its dismay over the state of affairs at Jayanagar Road Transport Office, when the petitioners brought to the notice of the court that five permits were issued in different names against a photo of a single person and directed the RTO to produce the permit registers.
Justice Abdul Nazeer observed, "I am shocked, it is nothing but a day light robbery. It is hard to believe that such a thing happens in a city like Bangalore. If it is true, it has to be stopped. We have to shunt out this kind of officers. It should be probed by either the Lokayukta or the CID or I will request the court to take it as a suo motto case." Justice Nazeer directed the State Governenment to produce the details of the strength and cadre including the details of those who had come on deputation and those who had gone to the other offices on deputation and the permit registers of Jayanagar RTO.
