HYDERABAD: Every year Iskcon plans to celebrate Krishna Janmashtami festival in different ways. The Iskcon temple, in the city decided to decorate the whole darbar with full of colorful roses, carnations, tube roses and orchids to welcome our Laddu Gopal. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness will celebrate Janmashtami for two days, i.e. on August 22 at Kukatpally and on August 23 in Secunderabad. The festival will be observed on a grand scale with a participation of 5,000 devotees and 20 international delegates. Pujas and prayers will be performed, which will be followed by devotional dances, dramas, bhajans and other cultural events in the evening.Sahadeva Dasa, president of ISKCON said over 5,000 devotees and 20 international delegates are like to participate in the celebrations. He added Vyas Puja festival will be celebrated at Lalitha Kala Thoranam, Public Gardens from 5.30 p.m on August 23. Meanwhile, Sahadeva Dasa said the the Bhagavad Gita must be given status of the national book because it is a sacred scripture for 85 per cent of the Hindu population. “The Bhagavad Gita’s gist is ultimate secularism in a person’s social and individual life, so it can be a book of a secular nation,” he added.On this day devotees do fast and sing bhajans, chants ‘Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare’. The Whole world celebrates Shri Krishna Janmashtami with full of joy every year.Jhula UtsavJanmashtami celebrations at Birla Mandir was held on Sunday from 6 pm till 12 midnight. There was bhajans and aarati performed in the temple, which was followed by a Jhula Utsav of Lord Krishna. Krishna bhajansRamakrishna Math too celebrated Janmashtami on Sunday. The celebrations included a discourse on the life of Sri Krishna, which were followed by bhajans and hymns in the praise of the Lord. After the worship, all the devotees were provided with dinner by the Math authorities.Janmashtami celebrations at Vidyapeetha was held in the city on Sunday. A discourse by Veda pandits was held from 2pm to 7 pm, which was followed by “Dasavani”, a bhajan session by Vidhvan Ananta Kulkarni. On Monday, there will be a sangeeta kacheri where bhajans and keertans by various bhajan mandals will be performed till 4 pm. The sangeeta kacheri will be followed by cultural programmes in the temple premises.
