BANGALORE: A 60 year old ISRO employee, who was to retire from service next month, ended his life by hanging to the ceiling fan in his office premises on Thursday in Jeevan Bima Nagar police station limits.
M Chandrashekar, a resident of Ramamurthy Nagar was working as an officer in the accounts section at the ISRO office at 80 feet road, J B Nagar. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.According to the police, Chandrashekar came to his office at 7.30 am and went inside his chamber after signing the register book. The employees usually come in by 8.30 am. At about 8 am, a housekeeper came to the office to clean Chandrashekar's room and found him hanging from the fan with an electrical wire.

Police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Dr B R Ambedkar hospital for autopsy test. Reportedly, he was suffering from depression and was even receiving treatment. His wife Parimala also confirmed his disturbed mental status to the police. Chandrashekhar has not left any suicide note.

Valuables Worth Rs 92,000 robbed

In another incident, Illuri Babu, a resident of Sadarahalli was robbed at the Sadarahalli Gate near the Yelahanka Old Bus Stand. The Chikkajala police said that some men gave Babu a lift in their car and then threatened him and robbed him of valuables worth Rs 42,000.
