Kathmandu: Doctors from India have been attending to Nepal's ailing Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala whose condition on Wednesday is stated to be stable.
Doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, including chest specialist Dr J N Pandey, were assisting Nepalese doctors in treating the octogenarian leader who was rushed to Ganga Lal hospital in Delhi on Monday night after complaining of chest pain.
Doctors said the veteran leader would need to spend two more weeks in hospital to recover from pneumonia.
"Prime Minister Koirala's health condition has improved a little bit after he was admitted to the hospital and now it is stable," Koirala's nephew and Nepali Congress central member, Sekhar Koirala said.
Koirala's health condition has become a matter of concern in the Nepalese political circles as he was due to hold another round of talks with Maoist leader Prachanda.
In view of the premier's health, the presentation of government's policy document in Parliament was re-scheduled from Tuesday to Sunday but it is likely to be delayed further.
Koirala will not be attending the wedding ceremony of his only granddaughter, which is taking place on Wednesday.
