Inaugural Delhi-Vijayawada AI flight cancelled

HYDERABAD: The Air India’s flight from Vijayawada to Delhi via Hyderabad was cancelled on Sunday, on the day it was supposed to undertake its inaugural flight.According to Air India sources, the flight was withdrawn following poor visibility in Vijayawada.The flight left Delhi, reached Hyderabad and then returned back to Delhi, without undertaking its Vijayawada journey.Sources said as the flight was a category C Jet-319 aircraft, it required visibility of 5,000 m on the Gannavaram airport runway.As the visibility was only 4,500 m, the flight did not complete the Vijayawada leg of the Delhi-Vijayawada journey and there was no return flight from Vijayawada.
