New Delhi: The highly secure mobile phone and laptop of an Indian Air Force officer has been stolen from his official residence in New Delhi.
The officer, a Wing Commander, is posted at the IAF Headquarters and uses Air Force Cellular (AFCEL) mobile, which is connected to IAF's highly secure 3G cellular network.
Since the phone and laptop could have been used to store sensitive data, Delhi Police is probing all the angles. Officials say they are probing if it a case of theft or there's more to it.
The Wing Commander, in his complaint, said that his family was not at home but at his ancestral place for summer vacation when the theft took place.
The FIR has been registered at Tughlak Road police station.
IAF had launched AFCEL services on October 25, 2013 for its personnel to prevent hacking and data theft. The IAF through AFCEL brought all its units and stations under one connection.
