HYDERABAD: The state government has decided to hand over the probe into the violence that rocked several parts of the old city of Hyderabad on Sunday to a Special Investigation Team (SIT).This was revealed to reporters by home minister P Sabita Indra Reddy after attending a review meeting held by chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy along with director-general of police V Dinesh Reddy, commissioners of Hyderabad and Cyberabad police, and other top officials at the Secretariat here on Monday.The special investigation team would also probe whether there was any link between the old city riots and the recent violence at Sangareddy in Medak district, she said. The minister claimed that the situation in the old city was peaceful. SSC candidates appeared for their examinations in the curfew-bound areas as schedule and without any hassles. Some of the miscreants were identified and a few of them were taken into custody, Sabita said and assured that the mischief-makers would be dealt severely.
