NJARAKKAL: The Njarakkal police on Friday night nabbed a notorious burglar who used to conduct robberies by breaking open the windows of houses.The accused, identified as Prijith alias Purushothaman of Mahe, was nabbed from the Vypeen Boat Jetty.The police trapped Prijith through his accomplice, Shiju of Puthuvype, who was arrested earlier. The police recovered 21 sovereigns of gold ornaments from him. Prijith and Shiju were remanded in judicial custody by the Judicial First Class Magistrate in Kochi. The police will approach the court to get the accused in custody.SI P R Sunu, senior civil police officers C S Musthafa, Pavanan, Jeevanlal, Govaldas and M R Rajesh assisted CI Xavier to nab the thief. SP T Vikram and ASP Rahul Nair monitored the progress of the investigation.
