BANGALORE: Can you imagine eating a monster sized burger of around two kilograms. Well, Dale Boone from the US hogged it and relished it to his heart’s content and once again became the undisputed champion at ‘The Final Asian Contest of the 2012 Eating Season’.The competition was organised by World League of Competitive Eating (WLOCE) in the city recently. WLOCE has till date organised 175 professional eating championships around the world, and held the fourth and the last championship in India. Nine participants competed against Dale Boone, the reigning World Champion for 12 years who finished the Monster burger of two kgs in the fastest recorded time.The audience witnessed the participants fighting hard to finish the monster burger especially in ‘who eats the fastest’ category. Dale Boone hailing from Atlanta, US stood as the proud winner finishing the burger in an unbelievable timing of 18.2 minutes. Abhishek MB, 21 a trainee at HAL and Akash Ravi, 21, a student at MSRIT, claimed the titles of First and Second runners up respectively. Abhishek finished in 21 minutes while Akash claimed the title of second runners up by completing in 24 minutes. The winner was given a cash price of ` 10,000 while the runners up took away the cash prizes of ` 5000 and ` 2500 each.“The event was an initiative to kick start the burger fest starting on Monday,” said Manjit Singh, Master Chef, Herbs and Spice while speaking about the event.
