Sambalpur, Hirakud, Sundargarh and Talcher recorded temperatures above 43 degree celsius.
Bhubaneswar: With two more deaths in Orissa on Saturday, the sunstroke toll mounted to 50 as the state continued to reel under prolonged heatwave, officials said.
The deaths were reported from Angul and Jajpur districts. Titlagah, Balangir and Bahwanipatna were the worst affected areas in the western part of the state where the mercury touched 44 degrees celsius.
Sambalpur, Hirakud, Sundargarh and Talcher recorded temperatures above 43 degree celsius, they said.
However, temperature at Bhubaneswar remained static at 38.4.
