HC upholds NICE land acquisition

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday dismissed some of the petitions filed challenging the acquisition of land for different roads related to the Peripheral Ring Road and other related roads project by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE), while allowing a few.The division bench headed by Justice Manjula Chellur read out the operative portion of the lengthy order, which runs into more than 300 pages and refers to over 300 files. The bench also directed the petitioners, who sought a stay to the order and requested the court to direct the parties concerned to maintain status quo, to file applications for the same and 26 pages, including adjourned the case.
