BANGALORE: The High Court on Thursday ordered notices to State government, DG&IGP, City Police Commissioner and Talaghattapura Inspector in connection with farmer and activist Siddalinga Prabhu’s murder case.Hearing a petition filed by the victim’s uncle Basappa seeking a CBI probe and action against of the State Government and police officials for their inaction in the case, a Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice A S Bopanna directed the police authorities to provide all the investigative reports prepared so far, to the court.It may be recalled here that farmer Siddalinga Prabhu was allegedly murdered and his body was found in a ditch near Green Valley School on Kanakapura Main Road on the outskirts of the city on October 17. His uncle Basappa, in his petition, said the police had failed to take any steps against NICE company MD Ashok Kheny despite registering a case suspecting his role in the murder. He maintained that police authorities had colluded with the accused and they had not recorded any statements from them so far. He argued that he was seeking a CBI probe into the case as the police authorities had failed to provide justice.The petitioner also prayed the court to take Ashok Kheny and other accused into judicial custody. The petitioner has named IGP Malini Krishnamurthy, Director General &Inspector General of Police and the City Police Commissioner as respondents and sought action against them.
