CUTTACK: The Orissa High Court on Thursday granted two weeks to the State Government to file its counter to the PIL on largescale corruption in supply of arhar dal under implementation of the mid day meal programme in the State.
The division bench of Chief Justice V Gopalagowda and Justice BN Mohapatra has also asked the State Government to file status report on the sinking of borewells for supply of drinking water to the Anganwadi centres by July 5. As per the earlier directions of the court to the State Government, Rural Development and Women and Child Welfare Departments filed two affidavits through their Secretaries stating that steps had been taken to sink borewells in most of the Angwanwadi centres in the scheduled area by Juneend. The complete report would be submitted by the assigned date.
