'Harud' at Toronto Film Fest
The film, 'Harud', based in Kashmir, is selected under the discovery section at the film festival.

'Harud', a debut direction by actor Aamir Bashir will be showcased under the Discovery Section at the Toronto festival on September 11.

The movie will have its premiere in Toronto.

Aamir says, “We’re delighted. I am happy for the cast and crew who have worked really hard and in difficult conditions to make this film happen. We have tried to make a genuine Kashmiri story which hopefully makes the audience get a feel of the conditions that a Kashmiri faces in daily life.”

The story of the film is based on a Kashmiri family that is trying to come in terms with disappearance of the elder son of the family, who is a tourist photographer during military insurgency.

The film is largely shot in Kashmir and a big part of the cast of the movie includes first-time Kashmiri actors along with renowned Iranian actor Reza Naji who has earlier worked in films like ‘Children of Heaven’, and ‘Song of Sparrows’.
