Guwahati on high alert ahead of Independence Day

Guwahati: Security measures have been tightened for the Independence Day celebrations on Thursday ahead of the 68th Independence Day.

Check points have been put up across Guwahati and frisking is being done for all vehicles. Security forces are on high alert to thwart any subversive activity.

There is no intelligence on a probable attack. Yet all precautions are being taken so that the Independence Day celebration goes unmarred.
