Guruvandanam to be held at Sainik School

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Twenty retired teachers of Sainik School, Kazhakootam, will be honoured at ‘Guruvandanam’ to be held in the school on Saturday. Jointly organised by the school and the Old Boys Association, the function is being held as part of the ongoing Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the school.  About 20 masters will be arriving from across the country for the event. Captain Louis George of Indian Navy, president, Old Boys Association, said a cultural programme will also be held in the school on the occasion, in memory of the late P C Satheesh Chandran, AIR sports commentator. The programme is being sponsored by the 1967 batch, to which Satheesh Chandran belonged.“Masters play the role of a parent, philosopher, and guide through the formative years of a Sainik School Cadet,” said Brigadier Pradeep Narayanan, Station Commander of the Pangode Military Station, and an alumnus. Scores of old students with their families are expected to attend the event, Group Captain B Janardhanan, principal, Sainik School, said.
