BANGALORE: Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s political secretary B J Puttaswamy has challenged former prime minister H D Deve Gowda to join him in a public debate on the issue of alleged corrupt practices by him and his family members.“I have explained in detail the corrupt practices of Gowda, and his sons H D Kumaraswamy and H D Revanna along with authenticated documents. None of them have bothered to reply to any of my charges. Let them accept my challenge,” Puttaswamy addressed reporters here on Saturday.Giving details of the property amassed allegedly by corrupt means, Puttaswamy said 126 acres of gomaal land and Nilgiri grove in Hassan and Ramanagaram were acquired by Gowda and family members besides obtaining 48 sites from Mysore CITB.“The total area of the commercial complex owned by Gowda family is 6.17 lakh sq ft, which by itself, runs to several crores. Apart from this, Gowda family also owns 240 acres of agricultural land around Bangalore,” he said.
