BANGALORE: That government order, pasted in dreary old notice boards of government offices may soon be a thing of the past.In order to ensure better transparency and efficiency, the government has decided to digitise all its official notifications and certificates and load them to a dedicated website. The programme would be initially implemented at the Secretariat level before its extension to the district and taluk levels. The state Cabinet which met here on Thursday has approved an initiative of the department of e-Governance in this regard which would come into effect in a couple of weeks.Minister for Higher Education Dr V S Acharya addressed reporters, “The department of e-Governance will be the nodal implementation agency of the project. It will bring about a qualitative change in administration.” Also, all government orders, notifications and certificates will contain the digital signature of the officials concerned.Acharya said that the the programme was designed in coordination with the NIC under which each department will have its own guard file, enabling users to download them.“This will ensure that GOs will be available real time to everyone.”****
