New Delhi: Want to attend the “world’s biggest new year party”? Well, it seems that’s what an event spanning five countries promises to be.
Music composer A R Rehman and actors Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor are some of the celebrities who will perform alongside International pop star and Grammy award-winner Nelly Furtado on the New Year's eve in Mumbai.
The show will be sponsored by cellphone major Nokia and the global music event will kick off in Hong Kong, followed by Mumbai, Berlin and Rio de Janeiro before the grand finale in New York.
Rehman says he looks forward to wishing all his fans across the world a great start 2007 by performing among such an exciting line up of Indian and International artists.
Nokia expects a total audience of 1.3 million and a global television and Internet audience of 150 million in an “unforgettable experience."
International artists performing in other countries as part of this event include Black Eyed Peas and Scissor Sisters.
Nelly Furtado will be perform songs from her latest album Loose and Canadian band Josh Desi, who remixed her single Powerless will also take the stage.
