Barbeque Nation has launched it’s latest food festival, bringing a mix of cuisines from beaches across the world.
Called ‘Sun & Sand’, the fest brings under its umbrella relished barbeques and other recipes from shores of the world, including favourites from India’s most popular beach, Goa.
Cooking up something for both non-vegetarians and vegetarians, the festival actually pays some extra attention to the vegetarian palate. Grilled artichoke with cauliflower, Spicy blackened cottage cheese, chili corn steak,m carribean jerk veg and Quasedilas are part of the green menu while authentic Fihunu Mas Badhige - shallow fried fish fillet from Maldives, Bahamian Smoked Ribs, Peri Peri Tangadi from Africa and Malaysian Shrimp are available on the meaty side of the menu.
Considering meat is fairly common in the city, the festival serves up more seafood in the form of fish, shrimp and crabs.
Main course includes the Goan delicacy, Lamb Vindaloo and Goan fish curry while there’s also the Mangalorian Crab curry along with the Grilled mackerel served with Tatziki. A special range of mocktails and cocktails have also been mixed up, to give diners a complementary apperitif.
A wider range of desserts including fresh fruits, a pumpkin pudding, Basbousa and phirni promise to end the meal in wholesome.
While you’re busy digging into your plate, you might also be surprised to find a Konkani track suddenly catch you attention along with a troupe of dancing men weave through the restaurant.
All part of the festive spirit.
