From Forest To Temple, How Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Ensures Pure Honey For Devotees
This honey is used only after more than 120 Devasthanams conduct tests and confirm that it does not contain any chemicals.

The Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy is the brand ambassador for the honey collected by the tribals from the forests of the state. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) uses tribal honey to offer this honey to the god.

Through the Tribal Co-Operative Corporation, which collects the produce from the tribals and processes it into high-value-added products through the self-help organizations of the tribals, the company offers quality products to the consumers through which the tribals ultimately earn income without any middlemen.

This honey is used only after more than 120 TTD Devasthanams conduct tests and confirm that it does not contain any chemicals. This pure honey is made available to the consumers by the Tribal Cooperative Corporation. The TTD purchases the honey at Rs 290 per kg. The tribals collect this honey naturally from the forest above the beehives, clean it from impurities, bottle it and market the quality honey as GCC honey across the state.

Honey is just one ingredient and there are many types of products here. Another important point is that it is the best of all the turmeric available in the market. There is trade-certified turmeric for the only turmeric Agmar which has 4 percent passion fruit content and 5 percent valtyl oil content in this turmeric. Also, it is an organically grown product. This turmeric is also used in TTD puja and offerings. Aruku brand coffee, organic turmeric, chillies, Sajjali Sajjalu Samalu, Korlaru Andru Korralu Dal, Bobbarlu Avise, Alasandalu and so on are sold in the Tribal Co-Operative Corporation shop.

Meanwhile, the TTD has allotted time slot tokens for devotees for darshan. Local18 states that the VVIP and VIPs visit the temple through several routes; while for others, the organisers have arranged special entrances. Around 5 to 10 per cent of the devotees visit the place through recommendation letters.

The common devotees, who want to opt for VIP darshans, the TTD has made time slot tokens available for them. As per reports, the tokens are being provided to more than 25,000 devotees. According to the time given in the token, the TTD will make arrangements within 3 hours of arriving at the queue. It is being reported, that in hopes of having a darshan of the deity, the devotees are visiting way ahead of the allotted time.
