Friday Release: Hitman vs photographer in 'Bumboo'
The Indian film market is still not favourable for indie films but good storytelling can always fetch audiences.

New Delhi: The Hindi film industry is going through a very interesting phase. On one hand there are big budget films which rely more on marketing than the content, and on the other hand small budget films are also there which are completely dependent on the word of mouth publicity. Director Jagdish Rajpurohit's 'Bumboo' is one such film which doesn’t boast of big stars and is also deprived of huge publicity drive.

Rajpurohit says," Script makes film not stars. They are important and like ornaments but stars will make the film look stale. Nowadays many films are like this only. The press discards a movie, and then the public does the same, still after one week the film does a business of Rs 100 crore. This is society's hypocrisy. You always deserve what you get, so better not to cry over it."

The film is an official remake of Francis Veber's 'L'emmerdeur'. The story revolves around a dreaded hitman and a photographer. Sharat Saxena is playing the hitman," My character used to kill crows in farms when he was young, then he finally promoted himself to a killer, and then he became a very good killer. He is more dangerous than the terminator. A professional who doesn't smile or laugh. Unfortunately there is an idiot photographer in the room adjacent to him who just barges into his room. In the end, the killer becomes a saint in Varanasi."

Kavin Dave plays the photographer in 'Bumboo'," I am a photo journalist in the film who is very upset in his life because his wife has left him. He has turned suicidal and wants his wife back. It's a crazy character 'Su Su', a short name for Suresh Sudhakar."

The director is very hopeful about the film," When you're a storyteller sometimes you tell stories that you have made and sometimes you tell stories that you have heard but the story should worth people's time. Something should come out. You never find stories, stories find you."

Though the Indian film market is still not favourable for independent films but good storytelling can always fetch audiences.
