`Friday Film Club’, an initiative of Don Bosco IMAGE, the Journalism and Film Institute at Vennala is entering its second year of functioning from September 7.
Envisioned to generate a group of film buffs, the club aims to promote the study of cinema through serious viewing of movies and discussions.
The club had screened 45 films including classics around the world in its introductory year.
“To respect a movie, the people who have toiled hard to get the best out of a movie, it has to be watched in an ambience that will give you the best audio and visual quality. We promise this quality. Our’s is probably the only movie club in India with such facilities,” said Fr Jiji Kalavanal, director of Don Bosco IMAGE.
Shows are held on every Friday at 6.30 pm at IMAGE Cinemas. Before the screening, the organizers introduce the film to the members and a panel discussion follows the show.
IMAGE houses an air conditioned movie theatre with 71 seats, ultra modern HD multiplex projector and films of Blue-ray quality.
