Fresh explosion from inside Pathankot airbase part of combing operations: Sources
Parrikar along with Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha and Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag will visit the Pathankot Air Base, which was attacked by Pakistani terrorists on Saturday.

Not taking any chances, the security forces have have not yet called off the combing operations even on the fourth day since the attack first took place on January 2. Just before Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar is set to brief the country about the operations, fresh explosion was heard from inside the Pathankot airbase in Punjab.

However, sources claim that the blast is a controlled explosion being done by the security forces and is a part of the combing operations. Unexploded hand grenades are being detonated by the forces to clear the area before Parrikar and Service Chiefs enter the area. The terrorists had brought with them huge cache of arms and ammunition with them.

Parrikar along with Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha and Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag will visit the Pathankot Air Base, which was attacked by Pakistani terrorists on Saturday.

The three are scheduled to visit the strategic base, situated about 35 km from the border with Pakistan to get a first hand assessment of the ground situation. The visit comes at a time when the government has ordered a security audit of all vital defence installations in the country to find out the possible security loopholes.
