CHENNAI: Ex MLA Ranganathan has been arrested in a fresh case for reportedly offering to sell a land and cheating a man from Anna Nagar of Rs 5 crores at Nolambur on Thursday. Three of his associates were also held in the case. He and another man TC Venkatesh had told one Ethirajulu that four persons including Jayapaul, Dhansingh and Albert owned land at Nolambur and offered to sell him 94 cents of it. Accordingly, Ethirajulu and three of his friends had paid Rs five crore. But the complainant had found that the sale agreement had reportedly carried 17.15 acres instead of 94 cents. Ethirajulu was also reportedly threatened and he lodged a complaint. In a related case, a 47-year-old man was arrested by the CCCB sleuths for reportedly encroaching two properties belonging to a former MP in Mogappair.
