New Delhi: Former Indian test cricketer Budhisagar Krishnappa Kunderan died of lung cancer on Friday. He was 66.
Popularly known as Budhi Kunderan, he was an aggressive wicketkeeper cum batsman.
Kunderan played 18 test matches from 1960-67, posting two hundreds and three half-centuries in scoring 981 runs at an average of 32.70. His top test score was 192.
Kunderan snapped 23 catches and made seven stumpings, but he was occasionally also utilized as a medium-pace bowler.
"He died on Friday in Scotland, where his last rites will be performed," his younger brother, Bharat Kunderan said in Mumbai.
Kunderan had moved to Scotland after retiring from competitive cricket. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
