Kolkata: Joint Forces in West Bengal are in hot pursuit of another important Maoist leader just a few days after gunning down top rebel Mallojula Koteswara Rao alias Kishenji.
A team of Central Reserve Police Force has reportedly surrounded top Maoist leader Ranjan Munda in the Gangashole forest in the Nayagram Police Station area of West Midnapore district of the state.
The forest is at the border of West Bengal and Orissa.
Munda is a military commander of CPI (Maoist) and is based out of Jharkhand. He is known to have carried out subversive activities in West Bengal, Jharkhand and Orissa.
A total of six companies of CRPF's 165 Battalion are currently in pursuit of the Maoist leader.
