A massive fire broke out in the forest area near the Modi Mill flyover in central Delhi on Saturday evening, causing traffic jams.
Seven fire tenders have reportedly been dispatched immediately to the scene, according to the state’s fire service department.
The officials of Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received a call at 4.52 pm about the fire in the forest area near the Modi Mill Flyover in southeast Delhi. The fire department and local police are engaged in the firefighting operation.
There are no confirmed reports of injuries or fatalities from the incident, reported news agency, ANI.
The fire erupted on the roadside causing a huge traffic jam on the Mathura Road near Nehru Place and Kalkaji, the officials said. Traffic police personnel were deployed to regulate the traffic.
Owing to the fire outbreak, the Delhi Traffic Police released a traffic alert saying vehicular movement has been affected on the Mathura road in the carriageway from Ashram Chowk towards Apollo Hospital.

The police advised commuters to avoid the adjoining roads near the Modi Mill flyover.
