Father-son duo killed after speeding truck runs over them

A father-son duo was killed after being hit by a speeding truck in the CB Ganj area in Bareilly, police said.

The incident took place on Friday night, when Jamil Ahmed (50) and his son Zahir Ahmed (14), riding a bicycle, were returning to their home in Sanaiya village, from a market, they said.

While Jamil died on the spot, son Zahir succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to a nearby hospital, police said.

The driver and his companions fled from the scene with the truck, after the incident. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, they said.
