HYDERABAD: The South Central Railway will introduce a diesel-electric multiple unit (DEMU) between Falaknuma and Medchal on March 25. The local train will run on all days of the week except on Saturdays and will make two trips a day. It will have eight coaches with a carrying capacity of around 750 passengers. The fare from Falaknuma to Medchal is Rs 7.Asaduddin Owaisi, Hyderabad MP, flagged off the inaugural train at the Falaknuma railway station at a function held on Saturday. He lauded the railways for providing a safe, comfortable and cheaper transportation, especially to the poor.Divisional railway manager Margoob Hussain said passengers commuting on the train need not get down at Secunderabad to change over to another journey for onward journey to Medchal.The 77681 Falaknuma- Medchal DEMU will leave Falaknuma at 08.35 hours and 14.40 hours and reach Medchal at 10.05 hours and 16.15 hours.In the return direction, No.77682 Medchal-Falaknuma DEMU will depart from Medchal at 10.30 hours and 16.45 hours, and arrive at Falaknuma at 11.50 hours and 18.05 hours.
