Panaji: Goa police is investigating a fake Facebook account created in the name of State Education Minister Atanasio Monserratte which flashes that he is looking for dating women.

The account on social networking website Facebook.com allegedly mentions his interest in women with the section 'looking for', filled up as 'dating'.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Deu Banaulikar said they have received a complaint yesterday and are probing into it. "We have filed a case against unknown person," he said. Meanwhile, Monserratte said he was "computer illiterate" and was told about the account by his colleague and party legislator Reginaldo Lourenco.

The imposter had abused Reginaldo on the account. The account has several ministers including Public Works Department minister Churchill Alemao as friends.

Visit to the account reveals that it was last updated on September 3 at 8:11 pm.

Monserratte was in news after being named as an accused in the 2009 Panaji police station attack case.

The minister was arrested and had spent seven days in police custody last year. Then United Goans Democratic Party (UGDP) legislator, has now joined Congress party.
