Jaipur: Suryanarayan's brutal murder by the Taliban has sent shockwaves to a voluntary organisation that takes consignments of Jaipur foot to Afghanistan.

Dr Mehta runs a voluntary organisation that fits Jaipur foot for thousands of landmine victims in Afghanistan whose limbs are maimed.

After four visits, he usually recalls the time spent fitting limbs to Afghan amputees with immense satisfaction.

However, today he is shocked at Suryanarayana's murder.

Says he, "I shudder to think of the kind of calamity that has befallen his family, young children and wife. I saw the photographs of the wife and mother and children sob and I don't think that the people who have done are human beings at all."

While they feel the pain for Surya's family most of those who were a part of the team that goes to Afghanistan say given a chance they would want to go back to hold more such camps.

Says member Jaipur foot delegation, K S Pareek, "There was this one time when we thought, why should we get into this mess and help people out, but then on second thoughts if we think on those lines then what about what India stands for? Taliban may do whatever they want to, but we will always be ready to help people."

The killing of Suryanarayana has come as a shock to everyone. But life goes on and the good work being done by this voluntary organisation in Afghanistan continues.
