Encroached land seized at Chinnakanal

KATTAPPANA: Around 320 hectares of land was seized by the Revenue Department near Annairangal dam in Chinnakanal village on Thursday. The Munnar Task Force had evicted the land in 2007. According to the Revenue officials, the encroachers had cut down several trees from the land. The Forests Department and the Revenue Department have directed the police to register a case against the encroachers. This was the third case of encroachment reported in the Chinakanal region this week.
