HYDERABAD: Eight child labourers working in agro companies were rescued by the officials of the factories department during special raids conducted in Jeedimetla industrial area on Wednesday. While one child was handed over to his father, the remaining seven children who migrated to Andhra Pradesh from West Bengal, Bihar, Orissa and Uttar Pradesh were admitted to the Government Boys’ Home at Saidabad.The officers team led by Rangareddy district deputy chief inspector of factories Y Mohan Babu conducted the raids and rescued four children from SS Industries, two children each from Maheswari Poly Sacks and Manasarovar Agro Seeds.In a release, secretary for labour, Employment Training and Factories D Srinivasulu expressed concern over children being employed in various factories depriving them of their right to education and childhood.Director of factories G Balakishore said that employment of children is a serious offence.
