Eight bookies held

BANGALORE: The sleuths of the special enquiry squad of the Central Crime Branch arrested eight persons for allegedly betting on cricket matches. Television,  seven mobile phones and Rs 1.08 lakh cash has been seized.The accused have been identified as Ahmed (32) of Guddadahalli, Nawab (36) of Goripalya,  Syed Afzal (25) of Bismillanagar, Afsar (32) of Dodda Mavalli, Abdul Majeed (24) and Chandrashekhar (42), both from Kalasipalya, Karthik (38) of Motinagar and Syed Sourath (30) of Kalasipalya. Other accused in the case is absconding and efforts are on to nab him. They are alleged of carrying out betting activities at SLV Milk Khova dairy shop on Murugesh Pillai Street in Kalasipalya.
